Mark Abramson is the Director of Watershed Programs for the Santa Monica Baykeeper and is responsible for creating one of the most successful citizen volunteer monitoring programs in the country in addition to other collaborative and successful riparian and coastal restoration projects. The presentation will include a brief discussion on the science associated with stream restoration, regulatory policies associated with development in and around streams and rivers and a case study on how science was used to design the Stone Canyon Creek restoration project on UCLA’s campus. Mark has a Masters in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona in Ecosystematic Planning and Design specializing in stream restoration.
